Getting Our Message to Latinos

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
America Eres TU (“YOU are America”) Radio Program — 900 AM — Will Take to the Air at 9 a.m., Saturday, July 10th

America Eres TU, will be the first Spanish talk show in Northern Virginia to delve into current social and political issues affecting local communities and our nation.
(McLean, VA) June 26, 2010 — The Conservative Hispanic Coalition announced today that its new Spanish talk show America Eres TU will go live at 9 a.m., on VIVA 900 AM Radio, Saturday July 10th, with a line-up of well known guests, hosted by Tito Munoz (“Tito the Builder”). The hour long show will air weekly.
"We're very proud to be part of VIVA 900, the most listened to radio station on AM," said Tito Munoz. "We are looking to contribute to the community, giving the tools they need to understand what is happening in our society. Our talk show will make radio uniquely personal to local listeners."
"It takes a talented staff to create this new Spanish talk show, and we're very proud of the people who will bring America Eres TU to our listeners," said Tito. "We've gathered people around the country and bright new voices in the community to create a unique format."
America Eres TU will entertain and inform audiences of the most important issues that affect them, drawing from a wide variety of issues that reflect the concerns and interests of a diverse audience. America Eres TU is committed to providing a venue for community leaders to come and express their own ideas to the Hispanic community, allowing them wide exposure that would not otherwise be available.
“America Eres TU will bring news and information into greater focus for a new audience of talk show radio listeners” said Laura Drain, Radio Producer. “America Eres TU will launch principally as a Spanish talk show with newsbreaks, interviews, special features and call-in commentary from listeners, making the program distinctive and compelling.”

Didn't know this group existed! Not much outreach to the Hispanic community in my part of VA Beach or around here at all that I can see.

We're getting our message out in Spanish in "El Tiempo Latino." Here's an article about the "Hands Off My HealthCare" tour that Ben marchi and Tito recently took:

"Que Pasa Festival, Richmond’s largest Hispanic cultural event and party, the Richmond GOP was active putting up and distributing signs (in Spanish and English), handing out stickers and literature, and manning a booth, among other activities. Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell and Republican attorney general candidate, Senator Ken Cuccinelli attended the event as well, and worked the crowd which received them warmly as city committee members followed them handing out stickers and information, and pointing out local media." ....

Clothing and food drives, clean-up campaigns, mentoring - what ideas do you have for projects in your area? It's part of our mission, so think about how you want to contribute and let us know.

BOB McDONNELL FOR GOVERNOR Bob McDonnell will be a governor whose concern for all citizens of the state will be his top priority, from healthcare and job creation to education and transportation. From the youngest to the oldest members of our communities, Bob McDonnell embraces all Virginians and celebrates the beautiful and diverse peoples who have come to love Virginia and America.
