If we have 2 years of stellar cooperation from all parts of the Committe (which does include all of the previous factions- many of which have a renewed appreciation for each other-- having worked beside each other for 2 years) and these people from the previous committee show up after a 2 year absence ...and the meeting devolves into what you witnessed, what else would you attribute it to?

OK, I get it. The blame lies with everyone else. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Not being around to witness every happening in the LCRC, I do miss some things.

Not that I feel a whole lot better...

If the LCRC seriously has a head cold, then I was part of the cure. The positive movements that have evolved from the last two years are far more cohesive under Caroline than under Protic and the "other" cadre.
Greg, as I've said, I don't dislike you Greg...in fact I've supported a number of things that you have highlighted...and I thank you for keeping them in the spotlight.
Before I logged off last time, I actually was about to thank you for the Candace and Dave Scmidt videos. You came along way and did these peices for a very reasonable sum, and all of us are greatful that they exist.

As I say, we agree on a good bit, so I do not understand the attacks on the LCRC. For two years in the absence of Dimitri Kesari and his lot, who are not even members any longer, there was a tremendous peace among all of us, and superior results for the races in Loudoun. We actually surpassed the State totals by the same 3 points that we led out surrounding counties in 2008.
Only when the same forces that loused up 2007 came back seeking to disrupt the Committee did any trouble exist. You witnessed this, but I'm not sure if you had occasion to witness every other meeting of that 2 year period. The difference was stark. The January meeting was actually a throwback to the time when many misguided individuals ran the LCRC. If you were to be factual, you'd be calling that committee a head cold....not this one.

You call John Grigsby my friend and I don't even know who the guy is off the top of my head.

Seriously, I think it's about time to stop trying to map the rather counterproductive internicene squabbles in the LCRC onto people outside of the LCRC. You make a lot of wildly inaccurate statements in doing so that seriously undermine your credibilty. If I were the "enemy" (and it strangely comes down to that all too frequently with some in Loudoun) to some faction in the LCRC I doubt I'd be filming for Candace Strother, Patricia Phillips and the RRLS, and both Howie Lind and Dave Schmidt all in the same week. All of those people are fine Republicans and I wish each and every one of them the best.

I announced my support of Howie Lind as soon as I learned he was running against Jim Rich for Chairman, and I still personally support his candidacy today. Howie is not some fringe element as some might inaccurately suggest, and such allegations when considered along with statements like those in this thread not only undermine Dave Schmidt's cause but unnecessarily sow divisions within 10th District Republicans where none need exist.

I'd rather we don't facilitate the head cold the of the LCRC morphing into full-blown influenza throughout the 10th District.

If your outlook at Trautz is actually as you indicate, if you'll accept that I stand with Corey and Ken on the 10th Amendment issues, as well as the EPA suit being prepared, ---I apologize. It appears that we want alot of the same things.
As for the Tea Party activities.....in so much as they remain seperate from Ron Paul's influence, I'm actually an attendee myself. I do believe in the united voice of all people who recognise the Constitution as the founding document and the tenets of beliefs contained in it as the primary guidance of our actions in pursuit of the Founding Father's intent for the Country. I suppose it was JoAnne advocating (from the Conservative Dinner Awards podium that night) for the defeat of people that I have had a working relationship with for years.

Your friend John Grigsby still rubs the Committee raw, even when he is no longer a member. He is single-handedly responsible for the propogation of a vicious smear against my Chairman. And he's repeated something he did not even bear witness to as a fact... ad nauseum.
Using my friend Chase Clay's analogy, regarding his hatred of Jim Rich....
paraphrased, of course....My dislike is Jim Rich, and anyone within 100 feet of him is collateral damage.
Thank you for the support of Wolf, and for addressing my concerns. I don't dislike you Greg...in fact I've supported a number of things that you have highlighted...and I thank you for keeping them in the spotlight.
Don't make this an adversarial instance, because it's far from that.

BPM, I do not "keep company" with Trautz. I actually think he's quite a bit of a joke. Closer to the primary I have some footage of him that is going on youtube that should clear such misconceptions. Rest assured, that Wolf bumper sticker hasn't been on my truck for years now for no reason.

As for my association with the Tea Party, I'm proud to stand with Bob Marshall. Scott Lingamfelter, Jay O'Brien, Corey Stewart, Ken Cuccinelli and the other absolutely fine patriots who have dedicated time and effort to that endeavor. I've stood out in the blazing sun to film July 4th events, and stood for hours in the December cold waiting for a plane the Danville folks flew with a banner saying "Obama Stop Destroying Our Country." I've helped plan these events, I've offered my time and talents to help make them successful, and I am unwavering in my dedication to helping American citizens restore representative democracy to our nation. You want to smear me as a Tea Party Patriot, on that point I'm guilty as charged.

As for Joanne Chase, she's a nice lady I've spoken to from time to time. I guess I know her a little better than I know you, but then I've only had the chance to have exchanges with you until pretty recently. I don't really know what all this mess is in the LCRC that has you at her throat all the time, but I don't recall her uttering unkind words about you.

Once again, I urge you to reconsider whether your actions here are helping you or hurting you.

Lyle, As someone on the Loudoun Team who has admired your work in PWC from afar, I honestly hope you are right. I know the hard work and attention that was required to bring about those victories...and I'm in awe of you for stepping up and delivering them.
I came by the information that I posted straight from one Ken Vaughn, who pretty much delighted in the news that a vote for Howie was as good as a vote for Trautz over on Jim Riley's site...... who openly has declared an urgency to target Frank. Take the issue to Ken for speaking out of turn, or speaking for Howie at all. I pulled it from a public forum, after all.

Greg, since you keep company with the Trautz/psuedo-Tea Party/praise- JoAnne Chase-when-she-perjures-herself-to-malign- a-decorated-county-Committee-Chair crowd, I must take your comments with a grain of salt...

If indeed your support is for Frank Wolf, we're all good. Otherwise, you're chipping away at funds needed to defeat 4 dems who are chomping at the bit for a piece of Frank.

Howie Lind does not support Trautz, nor do the vast majority of his supporters. BPM, you do yourself nor your preferred candidate no favors by making allegations like these.

I'd prefer you have Dave Schmidt, who is a fine man himself, campaign on his own merits. He likely doesn't need this kind of assiatance.
Comment by Lyle Beefelt on February 25, 2010 at 6:16pm
I've talked to Howie Lind regarding Congressman Wolf and Howie has told me personally that he endorses Frank Wolf and will spare no effort to see him reelected. He said as much in his campaign announcement.

Beyond that, I don't really want to make this into a "Who supports Frank Wolf more" contest. Frank has a primary and we will make sure he wins it here (PWC) as will Fairfax, Loudoun and every other unit in the district. Mr. Trautz cannot point to a single unit chair in his camp. Frank will win his primary and reelection, so I think that trying to turn this race into a referendum on Frank Wolf is an effort to frame the election around the non-issue because those who are doing it have no other issue.

A small group of folks may be angry enough over Jim Rich to tar Frank Wolf with the same brush. Some folks in the tea party movement may be so anti-incumbent that their dislike for any sitting congressman spills over into the race for the district chair.

Some of these folks may fall into the Lind camp, but the core support is just republican leaders who want a change in leadership at the district committee. I have no personal axe to grind with Jim Rich (I have voted for him before) and I support Frank Wolf 100%. But we need to quit the bickering that has been going on in the 10th District committee.

Neither is support for the previous district committee events necessarily the test either. I have supported events with my checkbook and then chafed while I watched the committee have nasty fights regarding the money - my money that I had hoped would used to win elections instead of as a show of who has the power.

My endorsement comes from looking over the platform and how the committee should work. This who are your friend finger pointing doesn't sway me a bit.

Please do. In the end, we still work together Tom. You should know that I respect you and the tremendous work you do to help the Party.
