Update From The Campaign Trail
Bolling challenges Wagner to oppose national energy tax on Virginia families and businesses.

In the past few weeks Bill Bolling has been traveling all across the Commonwealth, taking his message of New Ideas for a Better Virginia to the people of Virginia. I hope you'll take a minute to read about some of Bill's efforts below. If you like what you see, please support Bill's campaign by contributing or signing up to be a volunteer.

Last week, in response to a letter from American Solutions on the Waxman-Markey national energy tax (also known as "cap and trade"), Bill Bolling joined his running mate Bob McDonnell in opposition to massive new energy taxes on Virginia families and businesses.

In typical fashion, Bill's opponent, former Democratic Party of Virginia Vice-Chair Jody Wagner, refused to take a stand. (Wagner has also refused to take a stand on numerous other issues currently facing Virginia.)

The people of Virginia deserve a Lieutenant Governor who will lead, and you can't lead by ducking the issues that matter most to Virginia.

While Bill Bolling and Bob McDonnell have said "Yes" to More Energy, More Jobs for Virginians, Jody Wagner has said "No" to the development of Virginia's energy resources.

By opposing nuclear power, clean coal and the development of Virginia's offshore energy resources, Jody Wagner is rejecting common sense, job-creating solutions to our energy crisis and siding with the extremist wing of her party in opposing our attempts to create a more prosperous Virginia.

Take a minute to read the full statement.

If you agree with Bill that we must oppose new energy taxes and make Virginia the East Coast's energy leader, please consider making a contribution of $250, $100, $50, or even $25 today!

Bill visits Oran glass.

On June 10th, Bill visited Oran Safety Glass in Emporia. Oran is a true Virginia success story. In 2007, Bill sponsored legislation to make money in the Governor's Economic Opportunity Fund available to small businesses locating in rural parts of Virginia. This expansion enabled Oran to qualify for these funds and make a major expansion of their plant in Emporia. All told, this legislation has brought over 300 new jobs and $120 million in investments to Virginia.

These jobs are essential to revitalizing the economies of our rural communities, and those who live there have noticed. In this case, the jobs are truly lifesaving. Oran manufactures bulletproof glass that keeps our troops safe in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bolling visits RivahFest.

Last weekend, Lieutenant Governor Bolling paid a visit to Tappahannock for the annual RivahFest celebration. Bill conducted media interviews and walked the streets greeting voters and asking for their support.

As a State Senator, Bill chaired the Chesapeake Bay Commission and the Commission on the Future of Virginia's Environment. Bill helped craft legislation to protect the Chesapeake Bay, that provides economic and recreational opportunities to thousands of Virginians.

Bill is making the rounds at all the festivals this summer. In addition to RivahFest, Bill has already been to the Pork Festival in Emporia and the Chicken Festival in Crewe. You can expect to see him at a festival near you!

As you can see, Bill's working hard and our campaign is off to a strong start. But we need your help to keep the momentum going. Please sign up to volunteer, make a donation, or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

And please volunteer to knock on doors in your community. Door to door staging locations for this weekend can be found here. Just remember, the door you knock, or the friend you talk to, could be the one that decides this election!

Thanks again for all that you do. I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail soon.

Bill is very articulate and as conservative as anyone can get. We must reelect him and elect Bob McDonnell as governor.

Bill has been a great friend of the conservative movement in Virginia for years. I have long respected Bill both as a legislator and as a friend. When my wife and I ran the statewide Marriage Amendment Campaign in 2006, he was right there helping us across the state with personal appearances, radio spots and other support. As 1st Congressional District Chairman, I asked him to be our keynote speaker at our 2002 District Convention. Bill is running as the incumbent and will bring strength and stability to our ticket in the fall. Please encourage your friends to sign up for the State Convention and support Bill Bolling for Lt. Governor!

I've been on the Lt. Governor's advisory panel since it began. Bill is a tireless solicitor of public opinion and ideas realizing that a Republic form of government leads from its people and not from the top down. Bill is a grassroots guy and hasn't let his position go to his head.

He takes a strong position on fighting illegal immigration, wisely funding education and solving transportation funding problems to name just a few.

Just as important to me, since all politics really are "local", Bill has taken time out to attend our county committee fundraisers when invited to do so (yes- even in non-election years!) and has helped attract press and attendees, both of which have helped our committtee stay strong and fund local elections.

Bill "gets it" when we talk talk true Republican leadership ideals. I urge every Virginia Republican to support Bill Bolling for Lt. Governor!

I can't wait to beable to vote for you twice this year. Once at the convention, and then again in the general.. Thanks for all your work, and your willingness to put the party and the state above your own personal interests.
