The Online Community that will "Pound the Pavement" in Every Local Community

Our thoughts for this group are not really an organizing effort of yet another group for folks to join and incur responsibility, indeed that is one of our greatest fears in the new information age, overload, addiction, the theft of peoples offline lives as they become more immersed in networking and the technologies that follow them everywhere they go.

Unlike Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin and others there will not be an endless troop of new groups or causes marching across your screens. We have very definite goals here as expressed in the "Mission Statement". It may seem there are a lot of groups but if you look closely each has a definite purpose in the Network. They advocate for a social issue important to us, they advocate for candidates running for office, they advocate for some of our great leaders, they represent our individual committee units around the state, they represent Congressional District Committees, they represent Womens Clubs, they represent YR's, College, Teens and so on. Each group fills a particular niche, we try to be careful in who is setting them up and we try to not have duplication. When someone comes here we want them to be able to get the information they need very quickly, comment, socialize or network without having a universe to search through, or being bombarded with offers to join multiple groups for the same causes.

Our main purpose is to create an information resource for Virginia Republicans and do it in a way that allows them to network with each other, help each other, announce events statewide, present the Candidates and offer a place for them to share views with others and network socially online. We do not want to steal their lives away, we hope to provide the opportunity for them to find what they need quickly and get back to the grassroots efforts they are involved in, because we all know, that is where the votes are won.

Our vision for this group, is such a resource. We hope to get as many folks to join and contribute as possible. As they comment on ideas, techniques or technologies we will try to split out separate forums by area of interest. As new developments in technology for the grassroots become available we hope to share them with everybody.

For those looking for a role beyond commenting, we will be looking for some members with expertise in particular areas to moderate or be admin on the forums here, as it grows.

We want this group and website to enhance the on the ground "Grassroots" efforts in every community around the state. We wish to take little and give back a lot.

To all, our best wishes in all your endeavors, keep clicking those keys but don't forget to save time, to "pound some pavement"!!

I was just on a conference call for my friend, the Kerry Bolognese for Delegate campaign in District 41 (against incumbent Marsden). We have 8 months. Every single District in Virginia is open this Nov. for Delegate! Does everyone know whether there is a Republican running in her/his District? We have been caught short in the past and have had Dems running unopposed! I am in District 43 (D-Sickles) and I need to check myself!

Everyone, I apologize for lapsing (got hit with whatever is circulating)..

Bulletproof Monk, I see 'grassroots' as being from the ground up and requiring not much more than passion to make progress. How do I measure the progress? Am I further along today than I was yesterday? I.e., if I get 5 of my neighbors to come and watch "33 Minutes" (call it a scare tactic but it's reality; for crying out loud, how long can we expect to turn the other cheek without paying another heavy price! How much was allocated to Defense in the Resident's Porkulis bill??) and 2 of the 5 agree that this is a crucial component to ensuring our country's future, and each of them in turn get 2 others to join in, and so on and so on. Well, then the grassroots have spread. Now, just imagine "33 Minutes" being a concerted effort across Virginia, or the country even. He had Zilch for Defense in the Pork bill!!! What does that tell us about his plans, judgment, concern for our country? I'll work on it in the next few weeks and give you all an update on what I got. Regarding Tim's symbol, I also think it has a lot of promise. The shortcoming I see is that based on how radical the Resident is, the symbol may not adequately express how dire things are for our country. Would a hammer and sickle better express our state?

Tim, I like your style...I'll check into those stickers.

Tom Seeman, I'm a little slow I guess. What do you mean by "Obama is doing all he can to bring us together"?

I like this one:
"A recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose your job, a recovery is when Barack Obama loses his job."

Sue: We have stickers for your car or shop window now. You can see the shirts as well under the "fan photos" page on the website. the new oval version of the sticker is the one you will want. We'll run some more shirts as soon as we get a few orders. The shirts really pop. We got a lot of positive feedback at CPAC. What do you think about us makeing yard signs? (like the kind that were used during the election) go to http://www.nolefttrunamerica.com or http://www.noleftturnamerica.org

"Conservative principles don't die, they may get trampled, but they always survive to guide us again. Whenever our nation is faced with dire threats or challenges, we return to and are restored thru our conservative principles."

In rebuttal to B.O.'s slogan of "Yes We Can".... I say "No We Won't"

I forgot to add that I second everything The Bulletproof Monk said as well.

Tim nailed it. Let's take a look at some recent history, which I believe will prove his point.

One reason Reagan did so well was that his message was straightforward and easy to understand. "Morning in America" "Our best days are ahead of us" " government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem" and "The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much. " We all remember these.

In 1994 Newt Gingrich used a "Contract with America" to great effect. House Republicans promised to bring to the floor 10 specific bills in their first 100 days. It was easy and simple to understand.

On the other hand, what was George HW Bush's message in 1992? Or, for that matter, John McCain's in 2008?

Of course, we need more than just a slogan; we need a program. Reagan and Gingrich had both. Right now we are fractured, but Obama is doing all that he can to bring us together.

If we can win in Virginia this year, we will give a huge boost to the conservative cause throughout the nation.
