Purpose:

We are building a more durable Veterans Coalition in Virginia. One which will span multiple election cycles and hopefully have more impact on the political scene. We are open to all Virginia Veterans AND ACTIVE DUTY TROOPS. You DO NOT have to be a member of the Republican Party, but it is encouraged. We expect that most Veterans generally agree with the Conservative message of the Republican Party, although we are not always in "lock step" with all candidates and all issues. So, if you consider yourself an Independent or even a conservative leaning non-partisan, we welcome you to this RPV Network Veterans Coalition.

-That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing constitutional limitations
So, are we going to stage protests against Universal Health Care legislation?
I'm all for burning a day of PTO in that cause.

Here are our core principles, and I see no reason for me to not be proud to call myself conservative or Republican;

The Virginia Republican Creed
We Believe . . .

-That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice
-That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society
-That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government
-That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing constitutional limitations
-That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense
-That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers, is essential to the moral fibre of the Nation

My pride is not diminished because of a few, who have abandoned these principles in the implementation of their duties, any more than it can be diminished by a few Republicans having voted for Obama. I don't consider my pride tarnished because there are some extreme factions within my party, This is America, they have a right to their views. If I feel their voice is doing damage to my party's image, then it is my duty to overpower that voice and trumpet our true conservative values. I think too many people confuse these conservative values with contemporary social issues. I stand proud of my conservative values and I stand proud as a Republican. I may be willing to debate social issues and even compromise at times, but I will not compromise my core values and principles.

This is a wonderful communication medium to connect with fellow veterans who think along the same political lines. However, to expand the GOP base which is an urgent need, my suggestion is to reach out instead not inward. Many folks who feel as we do may not choose to regard themselves as conservative. Because of control by extreme elements sadly the conservative brand has been tarnished practically to the same extent as the Republican Party's.

The RPV Veterans Coalition is a fine idea. It is time for a veterans' organization to be born that will not be hijacked by any party for election purposes -- and then abandoned.

Digital ballot files are sent to NASA’s Johnson Space Center Mission Control Center which then sends them to the Space Station. The astronauts are then directly e-mailed encrypted credentials and passwords. When completed the encrypted ballots are e-mailed back to Mission Control.

– And for U.S troops overseas protecting the voting rights of Americans stateside? They can only hope.

O.P. and everyone: This is an essential strategy to putting the Republican Party back in the business of winning elections across Virginia. Many thanks for taking the initiative and for getting us together!
