I am in Hanover County's 55th district. We are a Republican county and I have every confidence that the Republican nominee will win in November. We are having a primary on June 9th. My husband is running against two others for the nod. What can you all do to help us get the word out about a candidate? His ning is Burch4Delegate.ning.com. Thanks!

Welcome Rebecca! In addition to the YRs, you should probably join the Fairfax County Republican Committee in order to get plugged into what's happening in your area. The website is http://www.fairfaxgop.org/join.shtml.

I am in charge organizing folks who live in the Annandale, Falls Church, portions of Springfield and protions of Alexandria. If you live in any of those areas, please feel free to send me an email and I can put you in contact with your neighborhood GOP rep.

Hi all!

I am also going to send an email to all members, but remember that one of the best ways to get networked with other young Republicans is to attend YR meetings in your area! If you don't know where the closest one is, please let me know and I would be happy to help you out. The more members your YR club has, the more active THEY can be and the louder the voice. If you go to a meeting, bring a friend. Our power throughout Virginia is going to be recruiting now - recruiting EARLY!

Also, make sure you talk about RPVNetwork to your Republican friends. If you are involved in your YR chapter, get your members involved and get them to sign up here. Also, make sure that you spread the word about your local county meetings. We need to make certain that there is no longer the stigma that the Republican party is the "old" party - so make sure at county party meetings, there are plenty of younger voters in attendance as well!

Let me know if you need any help with any contacts or any information. I'll be happy to track it down for you!

Hi all,
Does anyone know of any Virginia focused Conservative/Pro-Republican Energy policy related Bloggers? Just trying to gauge the Virginia focused Conservative/Rep. Energy related policy web presence footprint. Any volunteers want to contribute?

Hi all - My name is Rebecca and I'm thrilled to find this group! I most recently was the deputy national youth director for McCain Palin 08, am a proud resident of Fairfax County, and am also the Youth Outreach Coordinator for a Conservative Women's Movement called Smart Girl Politics (http://smartgirlpolitics.ning.com/).

Nationwide, we are looking to debate and develop clear positions that encourage conservative activism and consumerism in order to counter the negative activity of popular culture via the mainstream media. We are trying to support individual and collective efforts that improve our local, state and national conservative communities. And my little world, like in this group, is dedicated to younger generation of voters... I am trying to make sure that we are heard with the new RNC Chair, as the political operatives of today and tomorrow, as the voters of years to come. I call it the SGP Youth Campus.

I agree that failing to identify "conservative" and "republican" means, again, that a message and brand is not aligining. And we have a job to do in Virginia, quickly! Redistricting and being blue and so many other things nationally... Being a conservative can no longer be a negative but has to be seen as a return to the core.

Many in our own party cannot identify what true Conservative values are, what it means to be a Conservative. Teaching these values, principles, should be at the forefront, in my opinion. Showing that we are not afraid of technology but are embracing and pushing it forward.
