The Veterans for McDonnell Coalition will be hosting a strategy/planning session in Richmond on Monday, June 29 at the RPV Victory office (2819 N. Parham Rd., Suite 210). At this meeting, we will work to nail down our strategy for building an active and effective coalition effort for the rest of the campaign season.

- Coby W. Dillard was born on December 28, 1979 in Oklahoma City, OK. He relocated with his family to Richmond, VA in 1990. A 1998 graduate of Richmond Community High School, Mr. Dillard attended Elizabeth City State University from 1998-2000 before enlisting in the United States Navy.
Following recruit and service-school training, Seaman Recruit Dillard’s first duty station was the USS CONSTELLATION (CV-64) in San Diego, CA. While onboard, he qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist while completing two deployments. Upon his detachment in June 2003, then-Petty Officer (E-4) Dillard was awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his work as Medical Department Administrative Assistant and CONSTELLATION Strike Group Medical Evacuation Coordinator in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM.
Petty Officer Dillard then reported to Strike Fighter Squadron 106 (VFA-106) in June 2003 and was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class in February 2004. In November 2004, he volunteered for duty with the Naval Provisional Guard Battalion (Joint Task Force-Guantanamo)-the U.S. Navy’s first command tasked with the safe and humane detention of enemy combatants in the Global War on Terrorism. Reporting in March 2005, Petty Officer Dillard served as a Detention Camp Cell Block Guard and as an Admin Clerk during this assignment, for which he was awarded the Joint Service Achievement Medal. Petty Officer Dillard returned to VFA-106 in October 2005, and remained there until his separation from active duty in July 2006.
A staunch supporter of the military and the Global War on Terror, Coby is the present state captain of Vets for Freedom. He is also the Assistant to the National Director of Gathering of Eagles.

Today in Richmond, the Republican Party of VA (RPV) State Central Committee (SCC) voted to remove the sitting chairman, Jeff Frederick. This was the end of a drama that played itself out over the couple months (and, I’ve been told, extends back further than that).

The Adult in the Room
I had to back away from the RPV for a little while to stop my head from spinning. And I come back to....a bunch of infighting?
I'm going to speak candidly and bluntly.
Does anyone here realize that these little squabbles are what kills political parties? That while we're fighting amongst ourselves, the Democrats have free run to advance their agenda, and people across the Commonwealth will view us as disorganized and inept?
