Michael C. "Mike" May was first elected Occoquan Supervisor in a special election in January 2007 and then reelected to a full four-year term the following November. Prior to his service as Supervisor, Mr. May served as the at-large representative on the Prince William County Planning Commission and also served as a member of the PWC Social Services Board. A community activist, Mr. May has served as the Vice-Chairman of the Prince William Conservation Alliance and Vice-Chairman and Program Director of the Prince William Boys and Girls Club Board. In addition, Mr. May worked as a member of the County's 2002 Citizen’s Road Bond Committee and holds membership in the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Knights of Columbus (SEAS Council 8183), and the Lake Ridge Lions Club.
Regionally, Supervisor May serves as Prince William County’s representative to the Washington Metropolitan Council of Government’s (COG) Transportation Planning Board (TPB), as Treasurer of the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC), and as a member of the Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC). He is also an alternate to the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) Board and serves on various subcommittees for COG and other regional/state organizations.
A practicing attorney, Mr. May works at the law firm of Albo and Oblon, LLP, in Arlington, Virginia. He specializes in civil litigation, employment law, small business transactional work and government contracts. He earned his Juris Doctorate from George Mason University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary.
A lifelong Northern Virginian, Mr. May resides in Lake Ridge with his wife Amelia and their son, Leo, who was born on June 11, 2007. They are parishioners of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
