Sean V. Devlin

Sean started his path down life’s road first joining the U.S. Army in 1967. After serving 2 tours in Vietnam he worked in the transportation industry becoming a sales representative than terminal manager and than a deputy sheriff before realizing his career was serving his Country in the military. First joining the National Guard, he was awarded the Humanitarian Service Medal while supporting the Cuban Refugee Campaign during the latter part of the 70’s.

Once realizing his love of the service he reenlisted in the Regular Army. He served at numerous duty stations across the United States, Europe and the Middle East. He was selected as one of sixty-five non-commissioned officers to serve as an Aerial Fire Support Observer rated to fly the OH-58 D helicopter, a first since WWII. While flying forward of the front lines during Operation Desert Storm Sergeant First Class Devlin was awarded 2 Air Medals for his actions under fire in combat. During his career in the Army he was also awarded 6 Army Commendation Medals, 6 Army Achievement Medals, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Gold Palm plus numerous other awards. After ending his military career in 1992 Sean investigated possibilities in the real estate and vinyl manufacturing fields before settling in Newport News where he continues to serve his country while being employed with Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding, a defense contractor, and union member of USWA Local 8888 building the world greatest Aircraft Carriers (Yes a union man and a Republican). He is the proud father of a daughter Michelle and 4 randdaughters Kayla, Justine, Emily and Aimee who reside in western New York State.

During his career in the military he furthered his education studying Business Management and psychology at Northwestern University of Louisiana, Central Texas College and City Colleges of Chicago.

A Penny

The other day I was asked “Why is it you put your two cents in but it’s only a penny for your thoughts?

What happened to the other penny?

Well I figured it out!

Big government figured out how to tax your thoughts to try and cover this huge deficit by B.O..

Barackricy at its best!

The true legacy

Ted Kennedy, the Legacy!

I say let's stick to the facts speak and get a couple things clear & not twist the facts to change the real history.

1. He was caught cheating at Harvard when he attended it. He was expelled twice, once for cheating on a test, and once for paying a classmate to cheat for him.

2. While expelled, Kennedy enlisted in the Army, but mistakenly signed up for four years instead of two. Oops! The man can't count to four! His father, Joseph… Continue

influence-peddling

Ahh yes let's go after the Republicans for influence-peddling. I'm sure that no one has an agenda for helping Democrats take over the State's House of Delegates would they? However, since we are talking about influence-peddling at this level, let's discus and investigate 95th District House of Delegates Mamye BeCote and 2nd District State Senator Mamie Locke, both professors at Hampton University. They both have pushed and voted on legislation that benefits their university employer. Not only… Continue

Another fine example

Did I see B.O. last night on the news at a supermarket produce department saying he has not been in one of these in a long time as he bit into a piece of fruit? Well I did. Now is this the example a man of his position should project? I guess I can walk into any produce department and start eating fruit without paying for it. No, I can not, you pay for it first. Is this a good example for B.O. to give to the people of this Country? Now when someone goes into a produce department and eats a… Continue

Reflection

I look back on the time when I served this Country in Vietnam and ask myself why?

The answer was to stop the spread of communism, and it was right!

I answered the call to serve this Great Nation in Iraq and Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm.

Again I asked myself why?

We will not allow a dictatorship and terrorism to spread to other countries that are friendly to the United States and possibly to our land.

Then came 9/11.

They… Continue
