Harrison Stirling Authorities: No illegal drugs found in Haim case

A coroner's official says authorities have recovered four prescription drug bottles bearing the name of actor Corey Haim but found nothing illegal while investigating his death.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter declined Friday to identify the drugs. Haim was battling flulike symptoms in the days before his death.

Winter says an autopsy was done Thursday, but his office is awaiting the results of toxicology tests that could take two months before determining a cause of death.

Harrison Stirling Census campaign targets tech-savvy Hispanic youth

Groups pushing for robust Hispanic participation in the 2010 census announced a new campaign Thursday that aims to reach the hard-to-count demographic through its smart-phone-toting youngsters.

The "Be Counted, Represent" campaign offers music downloads and a chance at concert tickets to cell phone users who share their e-mail addresses and phone numbers with organizers and forward information about the census to their friends.

Harrison Stirling "Precious" sweeps indie film awards

"Precious," the harrowing tale of an incest survivor's struggle for self-acceptance, swept the Spirit Awards on Friday, taking home five prizes at the independent film world's version of the Oscars.

Harrison Stirling New publisher hired at amNew York

A former vice president and advertising sales director for Sirius XM Radio has been named the new publisher of amNew York.

Newsday Media Group announced Friday that Paul Turcotte will begin his duties as publisher of the New York newspaper beginning on Monday. He will report to Newsday Media Group Publisher Terry Jimenez, amNew York's former publisher.

Producer Mark Burnett said Thursday he is pitching a series to television networks that would be about Alaska seen through the eyes of its most famous resident, Sarah Palin.
