Here’s the gift of information for those interested in expanding their insight into and gaining a balanced perspective of our Nation’s energy issue. The following books are recommend:
“Gusher of Lies: The Dangerous Delusions of Energy Independence”, by Robert Bryce, ISBN 978-1-58648-321-0 and “Feeding the Fire”, by Mark E. Eberhart, ISBN 978-0-307-23744-6
Here’s another gift. Don’t buy them. Use your local library card and ask the librarian to bring them to you by “inter library…

Start Now - Again!
The Virginia General Assembly convenes Wednesday, 14 January 2009. It is currently in the hands of our party. Notwithstanding the large national economic malaise, our Commonwealth is positioned to weather this downturn so much better than many others. This is owing in no small part to the conservative stance of our Republican Delegates and Senators -- to date.
For those of you who are seeking a way to…

For everyone who doesn't know me, below is a Statement of Principles I typed up about three weeks ago so you can get an idea of where my blog post, ideas and comments come from:
I, Brian Rudene Gentry, firmly believe:
That although circumstances may change, human nature and the principles of liberty have remained constant throughout the realm of human existence;
That the greatest struggle throughout all of human existence has been the struggle between Liberty…

I found this recently and have shared it with others. I think that one of the things Republicans need to do to re-take the lead, both here and nationally is to once again establish our core values and figure out how to communicate those values. The following is a good starting point and can be the basis for serious discussion. -- Chuck
Beach Cities Republican Club of Los Angeles

This afternoon I viewed the CEO of Dominion Resources on CNBC. He was positive about Virginia’s economic outlook citing that she was experiencing “slowing” growth but not “declining” growth. He further noted that Virginia has been cited as a stable and business friendly environment for the past three years.
I would suggest that his optimistic remarks were due and drawn largely from the credit and creditability of our Republican led General Assembly and its…

(Note: FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS INFORMATION IS ON THE FREE CONGRESS FOUNDATION WEBSITE)
The modern-day Conservative Movement lost one of its most important founders today with the untimely passing of Paul Weyrich.
Paul was the consumate "organizational entrepreneur", to use a phrase coined by our own Virginia GOP National Committeeman -- and fellow Movement founding father -- Morton Blackwell.
Paul's efforts spawned…

Senator Hanger may call for a “Constitutional Convention” to require the Federal Government to do business as does Virginia: a balanced budget: no spending more than you take in.
Admirable. I support a balanced budget. I have to run one to make sure my lights, heat, and water aren’t cutoff and “tomorrow’s breakfast” will be on the table.
Larry J. Sabato, an eminent and respected political pundit, advocates a “Constitutional Convention” too. I fear he really wants the…

Gee Bob, I wished you had asked me for my “druthers”. I favor all campaign signs, commercials, and activities to banned on election day -- no signs in anyone’s yards let alone at the polls. Shows you how “out of touch” I am with this “progressive, permissive” society.
Hyperbole: An extravagant exaggravation But then, I would limit the franchise to property owners who could prove they had their taxes paid up five years in advance.
I keep looking for the people that will pay…

My father is a Vietnam vet who for most of my life struggled with PTSD and several other physical ailments. I watched his condition deteriorate through years of drug and alcohol abuse and survived many a long night of abuse as a result of it. I did not understand at the time that my father was "self medicating" his condition. Still he put food on the table and provided for his family.
Finally after a 30 year battle he was hospitalized and afforded disability benefits by the veterans…

Hyperbole: An extravagant exaggeration. Don’t ramble - do!
The Virginia General Assembly meets mid January.
That’s next month.
By law, Virginia cannot spend more than it takes in.
California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Vermont can’t pay their payrolls.
The Virginia Resources Authority recently sold $215 million in infrastructure revenue bonds in “tough economic times”.
The projects financed are ESSENTIAL to Virginia’s needs -- or so we are led…

Our new website for the King George Republican Committee launched today. Still a lot to do -- it's still pretty much "Web 1.0" but a big improvement graphics-wise over where we were before. To be added soon - online volunteer form, email signup, online donations - and quite a lot of content build-out and streamlining. Lots more to do, but this is a good interim step. Onward and upward.....

It is my opinion that the current position of the U.S. marketplace is no accident. It rather is a crisis that was created by those who wish to advance the progressive agenda for this country. I come to this conclusion simply due to a gut feeling and the knowledge that those who hope to gain from the crisis are the same ones responsible for it.
Quite simply, our current economic crisis is being used to move this country towards socialism. Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, and those…
