Instead of apologizing for his college thesis, Bob McDonnell should stand proudly and say it reflected the basis of his Christian values, which while his views may have undergone mature growth over the years, he has not abandoned his fundamental values, which are those adhered to by most Viriginians. If Bob continues to apologize he will signal that he is willing to compromise principles and that he "misspoke" which will add confusion to his message and place him in the same category as Craig "dirty" Deeds.

I agree entirely. I believe that the commentary on his thesis shows just how far we've allowed this country to move to the left.

It is now considered an extreme right wing view to suggest that, under optimum situations, families are best served by mothers staying home to raise their children. The fact here is that it IS better for a family if mom stays home. That is not possible for all families and many families do a very good job of managing their time to spend adequate time relating to their children, but nothing is as good as a mother who raises her children full time. THIS IS NOT A RADICAL IDEA!

You are now out of touch if, at any time in your life, you have spoken out against the homosexual agenda to destroy the traditional family. Americans have been so brainwashed that they have forgotten what an aborration homosexuality is. Do people no longer see the road that once seemed so clear. We are letting our government lead us down a road towards total moral debasement. We must not only hold the line but PUSH BACK. What you do in your bedroom is your own business. KEEP IT IN YOUR BEDROOM. Stop allowing them to make your feel guilty for speeking out against the idea that homosexuality is an acceptable substitute for traditional relationships. It is an embarrassment and has become more prevalent the more we back off. This was the goal of homosexuals right along. Regardless of what they say, the endgame is for homosexual families to be as common, if not more so, than traditional families. You hear things all the time like "America is not ready for Gay Marriage.....Yet!" as though it is an innevitable end to which we should all strive. What we should be striving for is encouraging families to stay together, reducing divorce rates by eliminating "no fault" divorces and educating our children on the importance of Moms and Dads. The fact that, at one point in time, McDonnell understood this somehow makes him a far right conservative?!?!?!

It would be crazy to just say that, in hindsight, his thesis was SPOT-ON. He could easily relate many of our problems with healthcare to the lack of consistent families. How often do we take our children to the doctor because, and only because, their daycare required a note from a doctor to confirm a diagnosis of common cold, or allergies, or any of a dozen other things for which we would not normally take them to the doctor. Furthermore, mothers staying home would notice subtle changes in their children which could indicate more serious trouble down the road.

McDonnell must stand up and speak to the fact that while, his views at the time may have been direct and lacking in certain nuances of modern reality, they were deeply held views and he is not ashamed of them. Now what issues would you like me to speak to now??
