Sandy,

Have you made a choice in the Senate Primary.  I am looking for people to help Bob Marshall get petitions signed and to be a contact in your area if you support him also.  Thanks,  Les Gabriel

Sandy,

Thanks for taking time out of your no doubt busy day to read and comment on my post. Whilst you obviously didnt enjoy it I appreciate your views. And its Karyn not Karen by the way.

I was in a bad mood when I wrote it so that possibly came across. I'm not worried about Sanford's marriage in the least - none of my business but he was not fulfilling his duties as Governor which was my point. Staff lying, Lt Governor having no clue where he was and spending taxpayer dollars to flit around with his mistress just cost him a possible Presidential nomination.

No, Sandy, I am not perfect but I am not taking tax dollars and living in the Governors Mansion with an eye to a Presidential bid. I have written previously about the stimulus package and the other nonsense this Administration comes up with. No one is more angry than I about the "stimulus" package. In fact I just sent Glenn Beck a Hank Rearden t-shirt. I assume you know Atlas Shrugged even if you have not read it. Second most influential book after the Holy Bible according to the Library of Congress and The Economist. If you havent read it, you should, it's flying off the shelves and rightly so given our current economic crisis.

Again, I thank you for your comments and would like to talk further if you so wish - its good to have a kick now and then! Lucky you living in Barboursville....lovely vineyard country.

Cheers

Karyn

Sandy, I haven't been able to find anyone willing to run against Cantor yet. I'm still working on that one. As for the city council seat in Charlottesville, I do know several Republicans I will ask to run. Thanks for the heads up about that seat being open. I'll let you know if one of them takes on the challenge.

Sandy--how amazingly ironic; I'd just emailed that same story from Yahoo to others, then went to read your comment on my page! Spooky...

I've actually been following that very case for a few months now, and it merely represents identical situations in police & fire departments(and for that matter every workplace and college, etc.) all over the country for decades now. The fact that whites are starting to challenge these travesties in court is great, but as you said, the diversity stranglehold may remain in place because hardly anyone wants to admit and accept that "The Bell Curve" is truth.

Thanks for commenting!

Because I'm not interested nor am I particularly capable in defending, explaining, or debating my view. It’s there. It’s what it is. It's mine and I'm not going to change and I'm not going to change others with further banter. If it has real merit some one much more influential and smarter than me might act on it to the success of our Party. If doesn't, it should be and will be ignored. All it is, is my voice. It’s not backed with wealth, prestige, perceived power, or any particular political experience or intelligence. It’s just a view.

It assumes, as Republicans, we all want the same things. Trouble is, as I have come to know as is in all human behavior, we all want them on our own terms. And that’s the “rub of it”.

Thank you for your interest. I apologize for being “too much”; but “December” is “near on” and I have grandchildren that I would like to leave to them a Republic as I found it.

Sandy,

Many thanks for your kind words and support....I really do not think of myself as any type of hero...just someone who was deeply proud and honored to serve my country, its incredible citizens and our way of life...May God bless you always and let's keep up the fight to bringing conservatism back to our party and electorate overall.

Sincerely,

Keith

Thanks for jumping all over me when I get out of line. I have very strongly held beliefs and this is the first time I've ever been on a site like this. I enjoy the banter and particularly like your enthusiasm and that you do your homework before saying anything. Keep up the good work.

McAuliffe, Creigh Deeds and Brian Moran who's HOD seat is what Joe Murray is fighting for. Moran gave up the seat to campaign full time against the other two Dem's. Like I said earlier expect a real slug fest, get your ammo bags out, you should be able to collect plenty!. And to answer your other question, we are looking into a chat room feature, like anything else it takes up bandwidth and costs more.

No problem. Let's work hard and smart, and resist the temptation to fight amongst ourselves. We've got much to do and overcome -- the only way we'll do so is working together.

Sandy -- thanks for the note and for your interest. We're very busy at the Party, first trying to rebuild, and second (importantly) gearing up for 2009. We have been well aware of McAuliffe and his activities, but as you know, there are two other Democrats running for Governor. We're going to take each and every opportunity to point out why any of these three guys aren't right for the Commonwealth, but we also want to let them engage in their own circular firing squad (to the extent they'll be taking shots at each other, which I'm certain they will). They key to our success is coming together as a Party, building the grassroots, and providing our candidates with the help they need. All those things are in the works. It's not necessarily my job to make sure everyone and anyone knows what we are up to (in fact, in some cases, we don't want folks to know the details of our activities), but to implement the right plan -- and we have a great plan for 2009. BTW, for starters, we are exchanging notes on this RPV Network that I asked O.P. and Tom to setup and get going to help us build coalitions.

Yet, if you've been on our email list, or attended the Advance, or are getting involved in your local unit, you'll be in a much better position to know what's going on.

Finally, McAuliffe is free to campaign all over the state. The fact that he is a big fundraiser, close with the Clintons, a former DNC Chair, and now a candidate for Governor will get him press. Our guy, Bob McDonnell, too, as AG and our nominee for Governor also gets press when he travels around, and he's traveling around quite a bit. The Dems are allowed to campaign and compete, just as the Cowboys are allowed to take to the field against the Redskins. We just need to make sure we win the game, and that's what we're working very hard to do. If you'd like to join that effort, we'd love to have you.

Thanks for your note again. Feel free to write anytime.

Sandy,

I appreciate all the contributions you are making to the site. I wish more of the members would start some discussions and comment on others like you do. Did anyone ever get back to you on what you can do to help build the Party in your local area? While you are waiting for the next Committee meeting, I can suggest a couple of things you might do get started. 1. Go to your local voter registrar and find out how you can get lists of registered voters by street. Pick some streets in your neighborhood and find out those households with NO ONE registered. As you find the time, you can start visiting them and get a read on what it would take to get them involved in the political process. In doing so, you will probably be able to tell whether you are talking to a potential Republican or not. I know that a lot of people won't be very receptive during the busy holiday season, so you will have to use your judgement about the timing. On the other hand, I have found that some people are more open when it is not close to an election when they might suspect that you are trying to push a candidate on them. I'm going to quit for now before I get too long-winded, but I do have some other ideas later if you would like them. I'll wait for any feedback.

Thank you for being interested in helping the party. Our HQ in Albemarle is closed every year during November and December so that a group from Greene County can sell christmas trees, we will open again in January on a limited basis and full time operations start up in the late spring, or early summer. Regardless you can call me about Republican Party issues any time at 434-242-1895. We would love to get you involved with the party, on a volunteer level in Albemarle, and as an official member of the Orange County GOP. Send me an e-mail at info@albemarlegop.org and I will make sure that the leadership in Orange get in touch with you.

P.S.
I am on with Joe Thomas every Thursday morning at 7:30.

Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, I was not able to be active in the party early in the campaign. It is my goal to fight for the conservative Republican values and to help reach out to Hispanics to increase understanding of what our party is about.

Sandy,

Just wanted to thank you for the very kind words you said yesterday...I can honestly say that serving in the Army was an absolute honor of which I truly cannot express how humbling it was over the course of my time serving in it. It was folks like you who made service to our country so special...I hope to make even bigger contributions now that I am retired and teaming with determined people to improving this country like yourself...one locality and one state at a time...

Respectfully,

Keith
